Infrastructure Facilities

The college campus is green, open, and wi-fi enabled providing a conducive environment for learning and contemplation. This natural setting enhances the educational experience, allowing students to reflect and engage thoughtfully with their studies. The entire campus, including all instructional facilities, is equipped with Wi-Fi, ensuring that students and faculty have seamless access to digital resources and online learning tools.

Ground Floor

  • Method Room: Dedicated for instructional methodologies and teaching practices.
  • Psychology Lab: Providing resources for psychological assessments and testing.
  • Trustees Room and Administrative Offices: Includes Trustees’ Room, Accounts & Administration office, Principal’s office, and general administration facilities.
  • Multipurpose Hall: Centrally air-conditioned and equipped with an advanced sound system, this hall serves as the main venue for larger gatherings, events, and seminars.
  • Seminar Room: Used for workshops, training sessions, and other educational gatherings.
  • Canteen with Pantry: Providing refreshments for students and staff.

First Floor

  • Classroom: One dedicated classroom for academic activities.
  • Library: The library at Amaltas College of Education is a vital resource for academic excellence. It is fully automated with the Koha Software System and features a diverse collection of books, journals, and multimedia resources. The library is committed to enhancing access to educational materials for both students and faculty. It is open on all working days from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and promotes a culture of reading and research.

  • ECCE Room: The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Room is a dedicated space specifically tailored for training future educators in early childhood education practices. This space provides aspiring teachers with the opportunity to learn and practice effective teaching strategies that promote holistic development in young children.
  • Resource Centres: The college features specialized resource centres that provide essential support for teacher training and practical learning experiences. Each center enhances the educational journey of aspiring teachers through hands-on activities and access to various materials:
    • ICT Resource Center: The ICT Resource Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the digital competencies of our student-teachers. Equipped with 15 computers and the necessary suite of software applications, this center provides a hands-on environment for students to explore various aspects of information and communication technology. Through practical training and guided activities, student-teachers learn how to effectively integrate ICT into their teaching methodologies, preparing them for their future classrooms. By emphasizing the role of technology in education, the ICT Resource Center equips future educators with the skills they need to thrive in a digital world.
    • Mathematics Resource Center: Focused on making mathematics engaging and accessible, this resource center is stocked with a variety of teaching aids, manipulatives, and interactive materials. Students can explore mathematical concepts through hands-on activities, enabling them to discover innovative ways to teach mathematics in their future classrooms
    • Science Resource Center: Designed for practical exploration, the Science Resource Center is furnished with a range of materials and equipment for conducting experiments and demonstrations in physics, chemistry, and biology. This center allows students to engage in inquiry-based learning, encouraging them to develop their scientific reasoning and teaching methodologies.

Second Floor

  • Common Rooms: Separate facilities for male and female students.
  • Social Science Laboratory: Equipped with teaching aids for practical learning in social sciences.
  • Art and Craft Room: Equipped with tools and materials for creative projects.
  • Classrooms: Three additional classrooms for regular academic activities.

Third Floor

  • Classrooms: Two additional classrooms for academic activities.
  • Method Rooms: Three method rooms dedicated to instructional practices.
  • Activity Room: A large activity room for various educational and extracurricular activities.
  • Reading Room: A quiet space for independent study and research.
  • Wi-Fi Enabled: The entire floor is Wi-Fi enabled, as is the rest of the campus.

Outdoor Facilities

  • Playgrounds: Featuring a badminton court, volleyball court, and an open grassy field for sports such as kho-kho, kabaddi, and basketball.

Campus Housing

  • The college provides campus housing for both faculty and students, fostering a sense of community and support. This accommodation enables easy access to educational resources and promotes collaboration among educators and learners.

Instructional Facilities

At Amaltas College of Education, our instructional facilities are thoughtfully designed to meet NCTE standards for teacher education while fostering a dynamic learning environment for aspiring educators.

  • Library: As previously detailed, our library is an essential hub for academic life, offering a wide range of resources that enrich both teaching and learning.
  • ECCE Room: This specialized space is dedicated to Early Childhood Care and Education, where future educators can immerse themselves in developmentally appropriate practices. The ECCE Room is equipped with resources to explore innovative teaching strategies tailored to the needs of young learners. Through interactive simulations and practical demonstrations, student-teachers gain insights into nurturing environments that promote holistic development in early childhood education.

  • Classrooms: The college has a total of four classrooms dedicated to accommodating the needs of four batches of students. These classrooms are strategically located on the first and second floors, with two additional classrooms on the third floor to provide extra capacity for academic activities.
  • Method Rooms: The college features one method room on the ground floor and three method rooms on the third floor, designed specifically for instructional practices. Additionally, there is ample space for additional breakout rooms as needed, allowing for flexible group work and collaborative projects.
  • Activity Room: A spacious activity room on the third floor is designated for various educational and extracurricular activities, providing a flexible space for creativity and collaboration.
  • Reading Room: This quiet space promotes independent study and research, allowing students to engage deeply with their coursework in a serene environment.

Recent Additions (July – September 2024)

  • Electrical Wiring Upgrade: The electrical system has been significantly upgraded to support increased load, accommodating new air conditioning units in classrooms and the centrally air-conditioned multipurpose hall.
  • Library Updates: While there were no new additions to the library collection during this period, the focus was on ensuring the existing resources remain accessible and up to date for our students and faculty.
